Lumbar Disc Microsurgery

OVERVIEW

This minimally-invasive procedure relieves pressure on nerve roots caused by a herniated disc. It can eliminate the pain of sciatica.

Lumbar Disc Microsurgery

The Lumbar Disc Microsurgery technique is used to remove the herniated disc portion of the vertebral disc.  It is usually 98% effective in eliminating leg pain (sciatica) caused by nerve root compression.  The procedure is performed through a small incision on the back.  This procedure uses a smaller incision than traditional lumbar surgery which means more muscles and skin stay intact and allows for faster healing.

WE CAN HELP!

Lumbar Disc Microsurgery has recently benefited from advancements in minimally invasive approaches and the surgery itself uses minimally invasive techniques which are generally well tolerated. Typically, this type of surgery is done on an out patient basis (i.e. the patient can return home the same day) and usually, rapid return to work is possible, but you should schedule a consultation with one of our specialists to discuss the treatment options.
